Do not be intimidated by this song! It is very simple.
Throughout the song, the same chords are used repeatedly, in various dynamics and
The verses are finger-picked, the choruses are strummed, the pre-chorus right after the third
is palm muted, and the outro is strummed. All of it is the same note structuring except
the bridge.
In the verses, after finger-picking through the chord, he lightly strums with his thumb
couples times, which I denoted with a “T.” Also, before the choruses, he usually pauses
strumming the chord on the 5th fret. I showed this by emboldening the “T” that he strums last.
He happens to pick up a pick to strum the choruses, but you may or may not want to do that.
You should know, I based most of this here tab on the acoustic version that came with
CD, although it shouldn’t be too different from the album’s version. Also, the high e
probably is tuned to c, but he uses it only in the bridge.
