The entire song is in an open 'D’ (200232) with changing bass notes. After each
bass note, the bottom 3 strings are fingerpicked 3-2-1-2-3 holding the open 'D’.
The free pinky finger hits the bottom 'E’ string 5th fret every once in a while
for a single high note (like right before he sings: “I think that’s why your
mommy left us”).

It sounds right when I play along with the CD, but I could be wrong about holding
the 3 bottom strings the entire time because it is hard to tell. But this is what
I think is right.
