Intro The shimmering "Don Henley - Boys Of Summer" thing in the background is something along these lines :
Verse and intro Your basic 2-chord progression. Strum to the rhythm. Play them open for the intro, and then roll it back to single palm-muted notes for the verses. A C# A C# - Pre-Chorus Open power chords. B C# B C# B C# A B Then this tasty little lick to transition into the chorus.
Chorus: Simple power chords will suffice. I'll synch this up with the lyrics to give you a better feel for the rhythm. (A) (B) (B) (C#) I'm gonna drive and never ever slow down (A) (B) (B) (C#) I'm gonna drive until I break down (A) (B) (B) (C#) I'm packing my things and getting outta this town (A) (B) (B) (C#) I'm gonna drive until I break down. Bridge & Solo The backing chords for the bridge and solo are the same as the verse. A C# A C# The solo is a total Nirvana scenario...it pretty much just follows the vocal pattern of the verses.
