There are two different guitar effects used in the verses.
The first is created by using a delay with some overdrive
and hitting this chord:

The second effect is created by  using a whammy pedal,overdrive
and delay to create spacey sound effects by hitting notes,
swelling them  up with the volume knob(on the guitar) and bending
them up or down with the whammy pedal....Just be creative in this
area.
Second Chorus:Same as the first except you play with the first
line of the chorus with this:  We--

Third Chorus:
Same as Second Chorus
Bridge:
During the bridge there is an effect created by scratching
The strings with the guitar pick while some overdrive and
heavy delay is on.

Last Chorus:
Same as second and third
